Five ancient Ruong houses in Phuoc Tich restored and renovated to welcome visitors

TTH.VN - According to the information from the Management board of Phuoc Tich ancient village, after a period of restoration and renovation, 5 Ruong houses in Phuoc Tich ancient village of Phong Hoa commune have been completed and handed over to be exploited and used.

The restoration and renovation are aimed to preserve the cultural values and distinctive architecture of Phuoc Tich Ruong houses

The total cost of the restoration and renovation is more than VND 3.6 billion, from the fund of the “Policies to support, protect and promote values of typical Hue garden houses” project.

The restoration and renovation categories at these five Ruong houses include: restoring surrounding solid brick walls; restoring wooden poles, trusses, battens, roof boards, and lambrequins, etc.; restoring door systems and damaged windows; renovating and restoring patterns on wooden structures such as trusses and battens; re-roofing with “liet” tiles (a type of handmade tiles of Hue); newly tiling the floors and installing lighting systems; restoring the buildings’ colors; and preventing termites in all wooden structures.

The restoration and renovation of the Ruong houses not only preserve the cultural values and distinctive architecture, but also create more highlights to develop tourism. Mr. Doan Quyet Thang, Deputy director of Phuoc Tich ancient village Management board, said: “As the ancient Ruong houses are handed over and put into use, the Management board of Phuoc Tich ancient village will cooperate with the owners of the Ruong houses to build plans to welcome visitors to experience and enjoy Phuoc Tich ancient village, simultaneously, to develop community tourism and homestay services.
