At the meeting, Mrs. Kendra Dupuy said that the purpose of the visit in Hue is to get the information on the implementation of the project " Minimizing the risk of mine from 2018  to2020" in Thua Thien Hue province; at the same time, to discuss with the province about the next activities of the project in 2020 in order to reach the project's goals and level of effectiveness, as well as about the local recommendations for environmental protection, for dealing with climate change for NPA to consider, support and deploy the project in the province in the coming time.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Vice Chairman Phan Thien Dinh highly appreciated the support and the activities of NPA in Thua Thien Hue province in recent years; especially for supporting the locality in carrying out post-war projects from 2010 up to present.

 Vice Chairman Phan Thien Dinh hoped that in the coming time, NPA would be interested to support the province in carrying out “green” development and environmental protection projects with the goal of building a brighter, greener and cleaner Thua Thien Hue as these projects have been being implented by provincial authorities.

Since 2010 up to now, NPA has supported the implementation of 5 projects “Minimizing the risk of mine in Thua Thien Hue province” with a total value of nearly VND 74 billion (of which the project in the period of 2018-2020 having a total of over VND 14 billion). Through this project, more than 5,449 explosives have been detected and deterred. In addition, the project also carried out mine risk education activities for students in the schools of the province.
