The New Rice Festival of the Co Tu ethnic group
TTH.VN - The New Rice Festival is a very important ritual in the life of the Cơ Tu ethnic group in Nam Dong district. The festival shows respect to the gods for blessing the village with a stable life, favorable weather, and bumper crops.
The new rice festival were re-enacted on May 18 at the Gươl House in the center of Nam Đông district. Since the dawn of time, the rice plant has always been associated with the mountains and forests of the highland, the farms and the lives of ethnic minorities here.
This is one of the traditional festivals and a cultural rite for everyone to meet up and create a bustling atmosphere for the village.
